Our Story

Auckland International Campus (AIC) is an education hub in the heart of Auckland, bringing together programmes from reputable institutions — a place to learn, grow and connect with students from around the world.

Established as a partnership between Otago Polytechnic and FutureSkills, AIC delivers high-quality, career-focused education for international learners. We combine practical learning, strong industry connections and a supportive campus community to help students achieve their study and career goals.

Our history

  1. 1966 Otago Polytechnic One of NZ's leading polytechnics is established.
  2. 2001 Future Skills A specialist private training establishment is founded.
  3. 2012 AIC opens Auckland International Campus is founded on Queen Street.
  4. Today 1,000+ students From 30+ countries, studying diploma to master's level.

    Programmes

    We offer high-quality programmes from diploma through to master's level in Applied Management, Construction and Information Technology. All programmes are NZQA-approved, with accreditation held by our partner institutions, Otago Polytechnic and FutureSkills.

    Parternship Model

    All qualifications are awarded by our partner institutions and delivered by AIC through relevant approved sub-contracting arrangements. Students enrol directly in a partner institution qualification, which holds all enrolment and academic records.

    Student Experience

    You’ll study in a vibrant, modern learning environment with excellent facilities, from computer labs and free Wi-Fi to quiet study areas, an Academic Resource Centre, and a welcoming student lounge. Outside of the classroom, you'll enjoy social events, cultural celebrations, and Kiwi adventures.

Who we work with

We work closely with industry to ensure our programmes remain relevant, practical, and aligned with workforce needs. 

We also connect our students with the industry via internships, networking opportunities, guest lectures, and more.  

Our industry partners span a wide range of sectors from hospitality and real estate, to construction and IT.  

Quality Assurance & Student Wellbeing

Both Otago Polytechnic and FutureSkills are NZQA Category 1 education providers. This means NZQA is highly confident in our performance.  

FutureSkills and Otago Polytechnic are both signatories to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. The Code outlines how education providers should ensure the wellbeing and safety of their learners.
